View Full Version : My Vette an SR71 and an F15 (pics)

Hello all,
my daughter is following in my footsteps and doing a 4 year hitch serving her country in the United States Air Force.

She is currently in training for security forces at Lackland AFB in San Antonio Texas, about 70 miles south of here.

It is a very large training base and gets a lot of visitors. They have a large parade ground with lots of retired military aircraft. I drove the Vette down there last Sunday to visit her and took these pictures by the parade grounds.

This is the SR71 spy plane. Not sure if it still is but it used to be the fastest airplane in the world. I think I could take it off the line! :)

There's a row of airplanes. The third one down in an A10 warthog. It was one bad ass atack plane in it's day.

Very nice pics!

I'm always been a fan of fighter planes... Also those retired from active duty, even back to WW2.

And what a great choice of colour on your Vette, would match nicely with gunmetal rims ;)

Great pics! Thanks for sharking! I've always loved the looks of Black Bird, it's a great looking plane. As well as F14 nad F15, those look somehow muscular and powerful, just like Corvette... :cool:

By the way, is that F16 between F15 and A10? F16 is a good looking plane also, but it lacks some of the attitude F15 has...

Yes it is mine. My id on CF is Cozmo. If you check my profile there you will find that is used to be longhorn_c4. When I sold my C4 and bought a C5, I changed my id.

To be honest, I really don't know what that plane is. I do not believe that it is a F16. It looked like much older technology.

The color is medium spiral gray. It was only on 2003 and 2004 model years.

It`s two-seater Lockheed-Martin/General Dynamics F-16B/D Fighting Falcon...first flight at December of 1976:p
