MS Sea Emma leaves Boston on August 7 with my car !

I have just confirmed the sailing date. August 7 or 8th. The car will go to Boston on July 30th, a few days for customs and packing it in a container. The MS C Emma will arrive in Bremerhaven, Germany on the 27th. I should clear customs and be on the road by August 29.

From Germany I will head to Denmark, first, then on to Oslo, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Netherlands, Belgium and back to Germany for departure sometime at the end of October.

The trip should cover about 7 to 8 thousand miles. I will be in the US until August 26th, land in Germany, stay with German forum member, pick up car and head north.

I think that is enough planning for today

Lots of work to do before Monday when I drop the car off in Boston.

Again thanks to all who have supported this effort and the many new owners of old and new corvettes that I will stay with in Europe.

Jack

Here goes a bad translation

Olen juuri vahvistaneet risteilyn alkua.

Matka kattaa noin 7-8 tuhatta mailia. Tulen olemaan Yhdysvalloissa ennen 26. elokuuta, maa Saksassa pysyä saksalaisen foorumin jäsen, poimia auto ja mene pohjoiseen.

Mielestäni on tarpeeksi suunnittelee tänään

It is going to be really crazy.....I am a few weeks late , do I need ear muffs for my riding with the top down...

Was your trip , did you take it yet ? , fun.....

As I mentioned before....any volunteer camera men / women available for some scenes....as mentioned....I am creating a pilot video for ( Motor Trend ) if they like it....possible TV show......I will do a lot of the in car shooting, but will need panorama and distant shots of car and video of people and car events and intimate dinner conversations..about your culture, politics...and other interesting topics...

I am trying to use cinematographers from each country...it will be interesting to see the difference in styles.....and how they may reflect their viewpoints.....

Route in Scandinavia

Hi Mika and others,

Mika has given me a route... that takes me to Trondheim, but it may be too long....I may extend my 5 days to 6 or 7, since I can visit Germany on the way south and back again north as I head to Bremerhaven to leave around Oct. 25.

I am trying to spend more time visiting people then driving......

I like the route, but what if I drove north through Denmark and took the ferry on the northern tip of Denmark, so I did not cover the same route through Denmark....but came to Copenhagen on my way back to Germany?

I may have to cut Trondheim out of the loop. Is there any way to get to Oulu without going all the way north around the Gulf of Bothnia ?

Is there a ferry across Gulf of Bothnia at the narrow point near Vaasa ?

See my map....

rg-line is connection between Vaasa and Umeå. Then take road #8 to north along the cost line and you are quite quickly at Oulu. Road 8 is nice and there are many little towns between Vaasa and Oulu.

Hi, Jack.
I'm a semi-pro videographer from Helsinki and I'd love to shoot some scenes for you if my day job schedules allow. I'll email you my details.
